Saint Nicholas was born in “ Little Asia “ in 3. century A.C. His parents were wery rich but they couldn’t have children for long period. They pray to God to give them blessing and after log time they received little Nicholas which had his name after uncle which was bishop Nicholas.

His perents has died soon and Nicholas has been left alone. His welth did not change him and he helped anyone that neaded help. After some period he attempted school for priestst whic has been influenced by his uncle. After while his uncle is dying as well and everyone asumed that he is going to continue his work and path but he decided to move to Palestina where he lived lonely life.

He gets back home in moment when dies his uncle’s successor. This time he couldn’t avoid place of bishop so he became bishop. From tht moment he spent his nights in prayer and days by helping those in need and spreading word ofgospel. He died on 6.December 327. exhausted with pendants an hard work.

He was buried in Mira were still today is burial sarcophagus. In period of Ottoman Empire conquere his burial remains where moved to Bari ( Itally ) in May. 1087.

According to believe of people he was doing miracles with his blessing, he healed a child that had fish bone stuck in throat so we called him protector of children’s.

Saint Nicholas is equally loved and respected Saint in “Eastern” or “Western” Christian churches so it has been raised many churches after his name.

There is many of folkloric habits and traditions connected with Saint Nicholas suchlike living gifts secretly to kids as he was giving to poor people while he was alive.

Saint Nicholas is followed by angels but also Krampus that leaves a whipp for those kids that didn’t listen their parents which is often golden colour. Evening before Saint Nicholas day kid’s would clean their shoes before going to sleep and leaveing on windows. Morning when they wake up shoes would be full with gifts .
